Is he interested? Advice please.?

So I met this guy last week Friday, in a club, dancing, flrting, had a bit of fun, a cheeky kiss and swapped numbers. He texts me that night and next day saying he had a good time ect, few texts each way on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night (conversation ended when i said goodnight), he always texts back straight away, but come wednesday I waited for him to text me or call, not a message all day. Didnt want to bother him so waited until today (thursday) and still no text or anything, I mean I haven't messaged him either as I dont want to appear needy but I really like him. Is it a bad move to ring him and ask him on a date? or should I wait for him to ask me....
