Can too much gluten give you a fever?

My son is autistic and has been on a Gluten and Casein Free diet. Recently I have been incorporating little by little gluten in his diet. Such as cookies, bread and crackers. Well, today he has lost his appetite and had developed a fever. I'm taking him to the doctor in the morning but as for know I'm wondering if it is the gluten. In addition, we have had a very very cold snap and have been hunkered down for the past 2 day. Any thoughts?
