I don't think you should take whey before bed - try something like extreme pro6 or syntha6 - these are blended proteins with milk, egg white etc. in them - whey protein would last a couple of hours and then it'd all be used up but a blend contains fast, medium and slow absorbed proteins (a bit like taking a mix of high and low GI carbs) so it'll keep your muscles fuelled and primed for recovery throughout the whole night.
